Welcome to the Fyfield Bridge Club Website
Website produced by Riverdale - 2009 - Tel: 01277 899840
The Fyfield Bridge Club meets for
Duplicate Bridge on a Thursday evening
at the Fyfield Village Hall in the
picturesque village of Fyfield which is 10
miles west of Chelmsford (See Contact
Page for full postal Details
).

The Fyfield Bridge Club opened its doors
on 6th November 2008 and started its life
as a Beginner, Early Learner and
Improver friendly Bridge Club. The Club
now has a membership of approximately
50 attracting an average of 8 Tables on a
Thursday evening. The Fyfield Bridge
Club continues to grow and has attracted
more experienced Bridge players to the
Club. However, the Club continues to
maintain a friendly and non-intimidating
atmosphere and manages to combine
bridge play, bridge tuition, social
interaction and special events. The Fyfield
Bridge Club truly is a ‘no fear bridge club’.
The Club Doors open on a Thursday
evening at 7.00pm with Bridge Play
starting promptly at 7.25pm and we enjoy
a 15 minute break during the Bridge
Session and serve Tea/Coffee and
homemade cakes. All Visitors will be
made very welcome but we do like all
visitors to call the Club Manager first
before coming to the Club; particularly as
we may be running a special event. We
operate a bridge partner hosting system
on an as needs and as available basis. (See
Contact, Key Info and Calendar for full
details).

About the Club
Club Policy on Slow Play - Reminder
I thought it might be useful to remind players of the club policy
regarding slow play. Bridge is a timed event. Games should
start on time and the Director should keep players moving on
schedule. There is nothing more frustrating for a pair than to
follow two slow players all evening and never be able to begin
a round on time.
The Club rule is as follows:

1. Each hand is allowed 7.5 minutes to complete so that
in a 3 board round, time will be called after 22.5 minutes
indicating that East/West players should move to the
next table.

2. If, when time has been called for the end of the round,
a table has more than 4 cards in their hands then the
hand must be abandoned and marked as
NOT PLAYED
and the players move on to the next round.
